Letting go of what got us to this point in life can be hard. It often brings up fears of "What happens if I change? What is next? What will people think?" We can start with the basics, identifying patterns in your life and getting curious about their impact on you; whether helpful or harmful. Going at your pace is important.
I am from Chile, where there is a lot of heart and culture. I always welcome your heritage into the room; because I know that knowing our heritage helps shape us to who we are and allows us to be authentically ourselves. I’ve spent time on the West Coast and the East Coast, having earned my bachelor's in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University and my Master of Social Work from Columbia University.
Before joining Daylight in 2021, I practiced in inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment settings and in high schools. My work with clients includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), and Relational-Cultural Therapy. I am currently becoming trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
Everyone is the expert of their own life. The answers are held within; and therapy creates the space where those answers can be explored.
"Slowing down is sometimes the hardest work we do, but in that space, we are able to heal wounds and find joy."
